Chikaming Township is beautifully located in scenic Southwestern Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan a few miles north of the Indiana/Michigan border. The Township’s character is largely defined by its attractive natural features. The most significant of these is the Lake Michigan shoreline, with its wooded sand dunes and expansive beaches.

Township News

  • From The County Of Berrien County Office of the Drain Commissioner:

  • The Chikaming Township Board extended the moratorium on new Short Term Rental licenses during the 11/24/2025 meeting for an additional 30 days, expiring now on 2/9/2026. . During this moratorium period, only properties with valid or pending 2025 licenses prior to 10/9/2025 will be allowed to renew for a 2026 license.

  • Public Notice: Streed Drain Construction Update – Chikaming Township, Michigan

    Drain Work has completed for the Winter Season and will restart in the spring of 2026
